6/9/19 - Columbia, SC

Today we drove to Congaree National Park. The park preserves the largest tract of old growth bottomland hardwood forest left in the United States.  We walked the boardwalk and took some pictures.  Along the boardwalk we saw a large colorful Mud Snake.   It rained this morning but became partial sunshine around noon.  We went to River Rat Brewing, Conquest Brewing and Swamp Cabbage Brewing.  At Swamp Cabbage we talked to the brewer of Bierkeller Brewing.  He brews German style beers using Swamp Cabbage Brewing's equipment and operates seasonal beer gardens in the Columbia area.  He took us into the brewery and we tried some of his German Lagers -- they were really good.  Then we went to Hunter Gatherer Brewing in the historic Curtis Wright Hanger at Owens Field airport.  After stopping at Steel Hands Brewing we returned to the Casita.
